About me

My drawings had to go out into the world

As a child I used to draw a lot. Then for years I hardly drew at all, there was always something else that needed doing first.

About two years ago I got a new iPad with an Apple Pencil and started drawing in Procreate. And before I knew it I was drawing for hours again. The drawings just stayed on my iPad though. I enjoyed making them, but that was as far as they got.

For my birthday my husband gave me a printer. He thought my drawings should go out into the world.

And well, when someone says that and then puts a printer in front of you, you do feel you ought to do something with it. So I started printing my drawings. At first just to see what they looked like on paper, because that is quite different from seeing them on a screen. Sometimes the paper came out of the printer and it was exactly what I had hoped for. Other times I could start all over again.

The printing led to the first cards and eventually that became Marbleroads. By now my drawings are being seen somewhere other than on my iPad, they are actually finding their way into other people’s homes. That felt quite strange at first.

And now there is a website too. Here I show what I make and what happens before a drawing finally ends up on paper. Because there is usually more going on than you can tell from the finished drawing.

So what will you find here?

On this website I share what I am working on. Even when I don’t yet know whether it will become a card or just stay on my iPad. Sometimes there is a story behind a drawing and sometimes I just came across something I wanted to draw.

Some of my work is in my Etsy shop. If you see something here that is for sale there, you will find a link with it. At least that saves you having to go looking for it yourself.
