The view from Tveit

This was our view from Tveit, while we were on holiday in Norway. I took a photo and used it for this drawing.

This was our view from Tveit, while we were on holiday in Norway. On the Sognefjord, between Vik and Vangsnes, with Balestrand on the other side.

Well, in the direction of Balestrand. With all those mountains and fjords it takes a bit of figuring out what you are actually looking at.

I took a photo and used it for this drawing. In the photo you can see just how much grey there is in that view. And yet it is not all the same grey. The water is different from the sky, and the mountains disappear somewhere among the clouds.

The drawing

If you put the photo and the drawing next to each other you can also see that they have not turned out quite the same. The grass in the foreground stands out a bit more in my drawing and the water moves differently. But the person over there on the right, on that little bit of jetty, is still there.

You can hardly see them against all that water. Until you have spotted them, then you keep seeing them.

I also made a print of the drawing with a colour palette underneath. And those colours have now found their way onto this website as well. Apparently I was not quite done looking at them……

The print is available as a digital download in my Etsy shop Marbleroads.
